Seattle (In Person) – 4th Sunday “Extra Credit” – February
February 24 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Parents that are new to the prospect of raising a gender diverse child have lots of questions! And it’s all happening so fast! It can feel as if you’re running to catch up before even having a moment to gather your wits. Is there a “right way” to approach this? Have you had any of these questions?
Is this a phase? What if my child changes their mind? Aren’t they too young to know?
How is this different from being gay?
Why are there so many trans & nonbinary kids now? Is this a trend of some sort?
What is the current research on trans children?
Are trainings available for my child’s school?
What are the first things I can do to show my child that I love and support them?
How do we find a good doctor (therapist, school, etc.)?
Should/when do I consider changing I.D. documents?
This session will provide some practical tools as well as an overview of a more gender expansive approach so clearly needed to best support trans and nonbinary children. Join us this next offering of our 4th Sunday “Extra Credit” series. Presentation will be led by Aidan Key with Q&A to follow. February 24, 4:30-6:30pm at our usual location in Seattle.
Reminder that there is no childcare at our “Extra Credit” events.
