April 28th The Most Dangerous Year
In 2016 a small group of families with transgender kids joined the fight against a wave of discriminatory anti-transgender legislation that swept the nation and their home state. These families embarked on an uncharted journey, fighting for their children’s lives and futures in this present-day civil rights story. Vlada Knowlton’s film also profiles the founder of Gender Diversity, Aidan Key’s ground breaking work with Snohomish county schools as they created trans inclusive policy in their district. Watch for some of “our” Gender Diversity families in the film!
“One of the best docs at #SIFF2018…The Most Dangerous Year excels in doing what great politically-charged pieces of art often do. Knowlton centers us, grabs our focus, and makes us listen.” – Michael Ward, Seattle Film Critics Society
Don’t miss this amazing film as it is not in wide distribution. It has been shown this year mostly at Indy film festivals. It is available to non-profits and educational institutions (schools and libraries) through The Collective Eye.
