Oh, what a conundrum! On one hand, the internet is the world’s best teacher, library and playground rolled up into one. On the other, it’s a dangerous place full of inappropriate content, people with malicious intent, and privacy nightmares waiting to happen. Especially for our kids.
What is a parent or guardian to do? The what to do is up to you. We’ll provide you with an introduction to the tools and techniques available, and discuss pros, cons and options so that you can develop a strategy that works best for your family.

Evelyn soldered her first Heathkit H89 PC together back in the days of disco. After a storied career with Commodore Amiga as a wünderkind and a stint for bad behavior at the University of South Florida, she launched her information technology consultancy the Logical Alternative with her wife Melissa. She took a few years off for a position with a multi-billion retailer as Chief Information and Security Officer. Evelyn’s hobbies include yoga, running, fashion, vegan cooking, and travel.
